Do you have a passion for science, technology, engineering, or mathematics? Are you driven to give back to your community? Volunteer at the Columbia Memorial Space Center!
As the national memorial to the Space Shuttle Columbia, the Columbia Memorial Space Center is dedicated to preserving the history of Downey’s aerospace program through our interactive exhibits and programming. Today, more than 40 active volunteers help to maintain daily operation of the Space Center by leading robotics classes, guiding school field trips on tours, working in the office, and planning special events like Rocket Fever, Family Nights, and the City of STEM Science Festival!
Each volunteer brings unique skills and talent to the CMSC. Volunteers learn while working alongside staff and other volunteers. As a volunteer, you have the opportunity to work with the community and form friendships with like-minded people.
