Astronaut Suit
Meet Andy.
Andy the Astronaut is a replica EVA (extravehicular activity) space suit from NASA's Space Shuttle Program!
Astronauts working in the vacuum of space require a multi-layered suit designed for comfort, utility and protection from the harsh environment of space. Special outer gloves, boots and helmet are also needed. A life support backpack is worn to provide cooling, oxygen, and communications for the suited astronaut.
Apollo Boilerplate 12
Abort Test Vehicle
The Apollo Boiler Plate 12, an unmaned, transonic abort test vehicle, successfully completed its mission at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico on May 13th, 1964 aboard a Little Joe II booster launch vehicle. This was the first full-scale test flight of the launch escape system in the transonic speed range.
Robotics Lab
The only public robotics lab in Los Angeles!
Learn the basic principles of robotic programming, engineering, failure analysis and mission management in our Robotics Lab! Currently featuring LEGO EV3 robots, guests are led on a Martian mission to collect rock samples.
Drop Tower
During the 1960’s, North American Aviation constructed and used a 150 foot tall drop tower, taking Apollo capsules up and dropping them into water to find a safe speed for landing.
Now it's your turn! Test your own lander using parachutes and soft elements from the top of our 25 foot tall drop tower!
Rocket Launcher
These soda-bottle derived rocket launchers teach the principals of rocketry using pressure, propulsion, and lightweight materials, like that of the Saturn V rocket launch system used during the Apollo program.
Gravity Well
Orbits, escape velocity, and black holes… These are just a few of the concepts you can learn about while having fun with our Gravity Well!
No need for coins here, we provide marbles for you to explore extraordinary concepts and more. What could be any more fun? Marble collisions, of course!
