Astronomy Night

Explore the Cosmos: Join Us for Astronomy Night!

Join us every month for Astronomy Night, a recurring event that brings the cosmos closer to you! Each month, expert guest speakers dive into fascinating astronomy topics, sharing their knowledge and passion for the universe. After the talks, explore the night sky with our telescopes and witness celestial objects up close. Whether you're an avid stargazer or new to astronomy, our monthly event offers an ongoing opportunity to experience the wonders of space.

This month, we’re excited to collaborate with Cosmos & Coffee, who will be providing our featured speaker, along with complimentary coffee for attendees (while supplies last).

Cosmos & Coffee is a community-focused astronomy outreach series bringing accessible, family-friendly space talks to libraries and community venues across the greater Los Angeles area. Co-founded by astrophysicist Dr. Francisco J. Mercado and local small business owner Fabian Aguilar of Angeles Coffee Cart, the program creates welcoming spaces where community members can connect directly with scientists, learn about current research, and explore pathways into STEM.

Our next Astronomy Night is Friday, April 10.

Time: 7:00PM - 9:00PM
Ages: All ages welcome
Cost: Free

Note: Telescopes are only brought out when weather permits. All ages are welcome, but some presentations may be better suited for older children and adults.

Existentialism & Cosmic Escape: Peering Through the Universe to Find Grounding on Earth

What, if anything, can the biggest outstanding questions in cosmology, like the nature of dark matter, dark energy, and the ultimate fate of the Universe, tell us about the human condition? Weaving together cosmology, art, history, and philosophy while borrowing from Black and Brown feminist literature, Kihana Wilson takes us on a thrilling journey through the cosmos in search of what it all means for those of us down on Earth, relegated to the margins of humanity.
