Astronomy Club Meeting: Lightsail-2 & ISS Above

  • Columbia Memorial Space Center 12400 Columbia Way Downey, CA 90242 (map)

Join our local astronomy club — the Columbia Astronomers — this evening as they host special guest, Liam Kennedy, who will speak about Lightsail 2, the Planetary Society’s satellite scheduled for launch in February 2019 on the next Falcon Heavy rocket.

Liam will also discuss ISS Above, a single board computer device he developed that presents information about the ISS orbit and when the ISS will be.

Liam is a former president of Orange County Astronomers, Planetarium Lecturer at the Griffith Observatory and a NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador.

The Columbia Astronomers are the official astronomy group of the Columbia Memorial Space Center. If you wish to join there is no better place to start than the meetings!
