Field Trip to Virgin Orbit

The CMSC and Virgin Orbit have partnered up to host FREE field trip experiences to Virgin Orbit facilities. Students will have the opportunity to tour a state-of-the-art aerospace corporation. They will get a chance to see where the brand new launch system, LauncherOne, is being built. Virgin Orbit, with LauncherOne, is revolutionizing the way we will be launching satellites into space. The tour will be lead by many of the actual rocket scientists and engineers building these rockets. The students will have a chance to speak with them, find out about their educational background, and get advice on how to reach their STEM goals!

Students will meet at the Columbia Memorial Space Center, take a bus to Virgin Orbit facilities, and be brought back to the CMSC afterward.

This field trip experience is for students in 5th grade through High School. Any students younger or older than this window will be turned away. Seating is limited, so this experience is for students only. Parents will not be allowed to attend (CMSC staff will act as chaperones).

Again, spots are very limited so please only register your student if you can confirm their attendance.
